"Not until we are lost do we begin to understand ourselves"
Henry David Thoreau
this blog
In these days in which we are - and must be - at home, there are many things we would like to say to the people we care about, but also to the world out there, which still pulsates with life.
There are things we have always wanted to express without ever having the opportunity to; others took root in us at this particular moment and sprouted without us realizing it, watered by distance, lack, solitude, fear.
"Scrivi sempre a mezzanotte" was created to give space to these words. A virtual place where you can express, collect, share and where you can read the "words from the dark" of others.
To feel closer and stronger and to scream to the world that, in the end, "everything will be fine".
scrivi sempre a mezzanotte
"Always write at midnight" ("scrivi sempre a mezzanotte" in Italian) is a quote taken from the correspondence between Vita Sackville-West and Virginia Woolf (HERE you can find the collection of the letters, edited by Donzelli ).
"Always write at midnight" are the words with which Vita invites Virginia to write each other during the darkest hour, because it is that moment when the heart is more inclined to open.
We believe it too. Midnight is the darkest hour, but also the one in which we can see stars.
So write, during this midnight, because your letters will be the stars to look at to not to get used to the dark.

On Spotify the channel of "Scrivi sempre a mezzanotte" is active; there, you can listen to some of the letters that have arrived in recent days, read by us and by more important people.
At the moment, not all letters are online; since many have arrived, we have given priority to the first and most significant ones.
